Cargo Restraint Systems wins 2018 Mercury Award
“Transport Solution of the Year: SEA” with CornerLash
In 2017 Cordstrap launched CornerLash. CornerLash is a breakthrough solution for securing heaving cargos inside shipping containers.
CornerLash utilizes the strongest part of the container, the corner posts. Click-in lashing points rated at 3000kg can be installed in seconds. These specially engineered click-in lashing points now make it possible to secure cargo of up to 30ton in less than 10 minutes in a consistent manner, creating a total cost of ownership.
We are very proud on CornerLash winning the Mercury Award for being the most innovative solution for Sea Transport 2018.

The other finalists in this category were BluJay Solutions and Unit45.
Victorian Transport Association
The award for Transport Solution of the Year: SEA was sponsored by the Victorian Transport Association. Our Strapping and Lashing Specialist, Astrid Groeneveld, proudly accepted the award from VTA’s CEO, Mr. Anderson. The Victorian Transport Association is one of the oldest industry advocates in Australia and represents over 800 employers and businesses that supply transport, logistics, and freight related services within Victoria and Australia, with a large and fully representative membership of the transport and logistics industry across road, rail and sea.
Winning this award is a beautiful recognition of the accomplishment of Cargo Restraint Systems to be recognised as one of the main cargo securing specialists and innovators in Australia. In her Thank You speech, Astrid emphasized the importance of securing cargo and how Australian companies often choose not to secure cargo due to cost- and time restraints. She pointed out that Cordstrap’s and Cargo Restraint Systems’ innovative solutions are proof that securing cargo can be done safe, fast and cost-efficient, keeping Australia’s and the world’s cargo safe.
