This makes it impossible to tie down cargo inside a reefer, and blocking and bracing is the only option. However, blocking and bracing does not work for all loading configurations.
Reefers are also lined with fragile materials such as aluminum and plastic and they cost seven times as much to build and repair, compared with a normal shipping container.

Reefer Lashing Points

The lack of anchor points inside reefers makes it impossible to tie down cargo in reefer containers. To overcome this obstable, Cordstrap developed the reefer lashing point. Dunnage Bags
Dunnage bags prevent both lateral and longitudinal movement and are the most effective solution for blocking and bracing cargo.
The best bag for a particular need depends on a number of variables such as void size, height of the cargo and specific shipping requirements.
Dunnage bags are available in five performance levels which have been established by the AAR (Association of American Railroads). Levels zero, one and two are mainly used in reefers to safely block and brace your products.
