You will need

  • Cordstrap Composite Strapping
  • Cordstrap Buckles
  • Manual Tensioner

How to apply composite strapping?

Feed Cordstrap underneath the pallet, around your product and fold the strap away from you. Take a buckle in your left hand with the legs facing to the right and up.  Feed the loop of the strap through the center of the buckle and around the upper prong of the buckle.

Fold the strap that is attached to the roll towards you. Feed this loop through the center of the buckle and around the bottom prong of the buckle. Pull the strap hand-tight.

Position the manual tensioner on the bottom strap, about 30 cm away from (below) the buckle. Push the handle to release the gripper foot and place the strap underneath the gripper foot. Feed the strap (attached to the roll) through the knife and the windlass.  Move the handle of the tensioner up and down and tension the strap.

When you notice that the coating of the strap inside the buckle starts to peel, you have reached optimum tension. This serves 2 purposes. One, it keeps full shock absorbency in the system. Two, it prevents over-tensioning the strap. Note that non-Cordstrap products usually don’t peel as they are manufactured with a non-flexible coating without this special quality.

Squeeze the handle of the tensioner to cut the strap and move the tensioner away.
